Seminar Registration Fee (two, full-day PDCCA seminars and two, 3.5 hour workshop): $450.00 per person.
Bundled/early registration discount rate: two, full-day PDCCA Seminars and one, 3.5 hour workshops); $350.00 per person, If enrolled before the early registration deadline of June 5, 2015.

PDCCA Description
The purpose of the Professional Development for Consultants, Community Leaders and Change Agents training program is to build the capacity of individuals and organizations to better serve and transform communities. Participants will gain the knowledge, skills, insights and confidence to be effective facilitators and agents of community change.

The PDCCA:

  • Trains and certifies participants in Leadership Incorporated’s Building Capacity for Social Change Model and sponsors a regional professional association of consultants called the PDCCA Affinity Network.
     
  • Presents two full-day seminars, and options for participation in 3.5 -hour skill development workshops, executive mentoring and continuous professional development opportunities through participation in the member-run PDCCA in Metropolitan Atlanta Affinity Network.
     

Who Should Attend?

Consultant, community leader, preacher, teacher, social worker, entrepreneur and/or other change agent who wants to:
1. Develop or strengthen your capacity to work more effectively in diverse, underserved/underrepresented communities both to improve the lives of individuals and families and to sustain the impact of your work and/or
2. Re-examine your approach to working with diverse, underserved/underrepresented communities; increase your understanding and do more effective capacity-building work in these communities; participate in an enriching professional development program among peers sharing similar interests; or become more recognized in the nonprofit field for providing innovative, transformative capacity-building services in diverse communities…

Participants will:
• Gain deeper insight into their personal approach to working for social change and community transformation with and in diverse communities • Increase their professional development through participation in a professional association with shared interests, the PDCCA Affinity Network
• Gain an increased understanding of their role (s) in the community transformation process • Learn how to work with diverse communities in a culturally respectful manner
• Build stronger relationships and form stronger partnerships with members of diverse communities • Become certified in the Building Capacity for Social Change Model
• Gain skills to provide capacity-building training and technical assistance in nonprofit and for-profit settings • Increase their opportunities to perform contracting work

ABOUT THE TRAINER:

Frank J. Omowale Satterwhite, Ph.D., Scholar-in-Residence, the Milano School of International Affairs, Management and Urban Policy; President of Leadership Incorporated; and Lead Trainer, Professional Development for Consultants, Community Leaders in Metropolitan Atlanta.

Omowale is an acclaimed community-building specialist with more than 30 years of experience providing technical support and building capacity for social change in underserved, underrepresented and other justice seeking communities. He now serves as president of Leadership Incorporated, a nonprofit firm that provides capacity-building services in diverse communities across the nation.

Dr. Satterwhite has provided technical assistance to more than 1,200 organizations in 43 states and 100 cities across the country. Omowale currently provides organizational development training and consultation to more than 50 social justice, health/human service, community development and philanthropic organizations across the country annually. He has served on the boards of a variety of local, regional, and national organizations.

Dr. Satterwhite has provided professional development to more than 800 consultants, community leaders and change agents over the past 15 years. His previous experience includes serving on the faculty of Oberlin College, where he developed the first African-American studies program and as President of Applied Management and Organizational Services.

Omowale has a Ph.D. from Stanford University, a M.A. from Southern Illinois University and a B.A. from Howard University
