Workshop Registration Fee: $100.00 per person; a
total of $400.00 for all workshops.
Bundled/early registration discount rate:
$250.00 for three workshops and $300.00 for four
workshops if enrolled before the early
registration deadline of June 5, 2015.
Early Registration Deadline: Friday, June 5,
2015.
Cancellation/Refund Policy: NO Refunds for
cancellations occurring 2 days before the
training.
Workshop Description
This interactive, hands-on workshop examines the
basic characteristics, practices and challenges
faced by grassroots, stable and sustainable
organizations, with a focus on ways to develop
pathways and strategies to take the organization
to the next level.
Who Should Attend?
Board members, senior management staff, program
directors, line staff and volunteers who are
seeking to deepen their knowledge of the
capacity-building process in underserved
communities.
Participants will:
• Learn the basic characteristics and practices
of grassroots, stable and sustainable
organizations
• Learn the common challenges and pathways to
developing stable/sustainable organizations and
outline a strategy for taking their own
organization to the next level
• Form relationship leading to networking
activities following the training
ABOUT THE TRAINER:
Frank J. Omowale Satterwhite, Ph.D.,
Scholar-in-Residence, the Milano School of
International Affairs, Management and Urban
Policy; President of Leadership Incorporated;
and Lead Trainer, Professional Development for
Consultants, Community Leaders in Metropolitan
Atlanta.
Omowale is an acclaimed community-building
specialist with more than 30 years of experience
providing technical support and building
capacity for social change in underserved,
underrepresented and other justice seeking
communities. He now serves as president of
Leadership Incorporated, a nonprofit firm that
provides capacity-building services in diverse
communities across the nation.
Dr. Satterwhite has provided technical
assistance to more than 1,200 organizations in
43 states and 100 cities across the country.
Omowale currently provides organizational
development training and consultation to more
than 50 social justice, health/human service,
community development and philanthropic
organizations across the country annually. He
has served on the boards of a variety of local,
regional, and national organizations.
Dr. Satterwhite has provided professional
development to more than 800 consultants,
community leaders and change agents over the
past 15 years. His previous experience includes
serving on the faculty of Oberlin College, where
he developed the first African-American studies
program and as President of Applied Management
and Organizational Services.
Omowale has a Ph.D. from Stanford University, a
M.A. from Southern Illinois University and a
B.A. from Howard University.
